  1. WANTED: Video & Photo Pro

"Sounds good, Rob. I might even apply for the position myself!"

    - Howard Hall, Filmmaker, Photographer, Author & all-round nice guy

How does a sabbatical of tropical Pacific diving from NAI'A while building your photo and video library sound? Join the series of the talented, enthusiastic and charismatic underwater image pros who have set up shop producing and selling trip videos onboard NAI'A for four to six months at a time.

You will need your own shooting, editing and burning gear along with a broader vision and probably a deeper understanding of marine ecology than the standard tourist-trip-video maker. There is also the prospect of renting out camera gear or teaching photo/video classes.

Previous pros include Josh Jensen, Mike Boom, and Nick Hope but a 4-letter first name is not a prerequisite.

  2. Having had a few years experience with this kind of setup I would suggest an outline of the agreement regarding remuneration and also the copyright issue. One year can reap a whole bundle of images both still and video and I'm sure all shooters would want that issue clear before even contacting you.

    Just a thought.

    Cheers,

    Mark.

(Four letters in the name but otherwise booked) :bananashark:

  4. Rob-

We just saw two of Mike Boom's videos from his time on the Nai'a at the San Diego Underwater Film Festival this month and they were fantastic. Hope you can secure another video pro of his caliber. What, Nick H. couldn't hold on till our 10 day trip next June....

    John

  5. I have 8 more Fiji trips on board, taking me up to mid-December. Just having a few days in Tonga at the end of the humpback season before heading back to Fiji.

Rob lets the video pro keep copyright of all the material. He even let me use some of his humpback shots in my trip videos from the trips he joined himself :uwphotog:

Anyway here's a pic of the videographer's cabin

  6. Nick-

Was hoping too meet you in June 09! Can't you hold on another 7 months? :uwphotog:

I would even help tidy up your cabin!

Where can we check out some of your Fiji stuff to get psyched for next year.

    Take care. John

  7. Looks like a real sweet setup. Most cabins are no where near that large. Wow.

    Steve
