HDRI & Helicon focus experiment

  1. Since being land locked for the summer, I have been playing with combining HDRI with helicon focus. The underwater applications for such shooting would be limited to non-moving or extremely slow moving objects. Nudi's would be too fast moving for such a shot.

To combine these two combining techniques, I took 7 - 3/4 stop images at each of three focal pionts. I then combined each exposure group in helicon focus to get 7 main shots with unlimited focus. I then ran the 7 post helicon exposures through photomatix.

I'll try this technique in water next month and will post my success or failure.post-9136-1219158797.jpg

  2. Makes for a very 'real' looking image. I think this will be very nice for landscapes, save on that 24mmPC lens I was salivating over.
