Dominica again

Just found part of the old post on the Dominica page(s) and had a laugh re-reading them.

In follow up to the original posted over a year ago regarding the horrible state of affairs certain airlines have left us in, I now have some good news and then to follow it up better news.

The good news first.

I wished to ensure RtR had disappeared and was truly dug in back home before accepting, I am now Manager for all dive and watersports activities at Anchorage Hotel, so anyone wishing to come down knows where to find me. (sorry Rich)

Better news...

We now have flights out of Vieux Fort St. Lucia (code UVF) to Dominicas' Canefield airport (DCF), something I mentioned may happen a year ago.

The flights are deliberately timed to give enough leeway to connect for those arriving from Europe and the USA. They may even be codeshare for some UK connections.I am not sure, but it is on Carib aviation which is run through LIAT. Canefield is of course 10 (ok 20, for normal drivers) minutes from Roseau.

So unless you really have to, there is no reason not to bypass the morass that is Puerto Rico.

This I hope will make it a lot easier for those who originally responded as always wanting to come down but didn't want to go through SJU and waste a day either way, and then wonder if they'd been donating equipment as well..

All I can say is hope to see you soon, if not with me then at one of the other dive operators, www.dominicawatersports.com remember we have three distinct types of diving here, all good. Plus the amazing topside stuff.

The USair flight into St Lucia makes for a very tight connection, easily missed.

Awright Izzy, you're safe. I won't be making it back down there too soon, unfortunately.

What's up with the pic of Kian on the website? Congrats on hitting instructor, but did he cut off the braids???

I know for us we had to do the SJU route because we were using FF miles. Now that's not an issue (we're out) we'd be more open to different routes next time.
