We get lots of slugs in St Abbs where I dive. Some of them a hard to see at first as they often look a lot like their prey.
Take this homboug slug hombourg slug they look like dead mans finger soft coral, Its not till one bit leans over and takes a bite out of the other bit that you often spot them.
Hi Old Dog. Nice to see some cold water pics! Were they all taken at St Abbs? Or are any from other sites? I like the cowrie (at least I think it's a cowrie). I'[ve never seen one at St Abbs. HOwever, I'm there at the weekend, so I'll keep my eyes peeled!

Hi Elainew, The first five shots are taken in Loch Creran on the west coast. all the other shots are taken in St Abbs marine reserve.
The shot of the spotted cowrie was at Green Ends gulley S/A. But you can find loads all over the resrve area.
Do you know it is the St Abbs splash in competitionthis weekend. It will be chocka with photogs and if you dont shore dive you will find boat space hard to find.
regards Olddog
P.S. If you are in the comp I can give you the location of a rare Tadpole fish that is living in a small cave in the area.
Hi again. My mission on Sunday - a spotted cowrie! Thanks for the info. I'm not entering the Splash In but we have boat booked as a result of a cancellation from elsewhere. I haven't dived Loch Creran so that's a new one on me. Cheers.
