  2. WOW!

    Superb macro-action!

    I love the mantis image.

  3. Love the shots. The mantis shot is my fav. The best points are the composition. I love the sharp eyes in the upper third of the picture. The colours are splendid and the shallow depth of field makes it look as if the critter is really in your face ready to strike.

As for constructive crit, perhaps the odd bit of backscatter could be cloned out for perfection.

My second fav is the squid shot. The sharp vibrant detail is stunning.

Constructive crit is that the shot looks squeezed from the right. The tentacles needed more room for my eye. Also the odd bit of backscatter distracts.

Beautiful set of shots and it looks a magical place to dive, thanks for sharing. (I hope the dumb crit helps and not offend) Far better than i can do.

  4. Thanks for the critic. It helps. And I agree. Part of the problem was the equipment. I had a 105mm on for the squid short and it was a tad long. A 60mm would have been soooo much better.

Here is another squid shot, but squeezed to the left. :bananashark:

I miss my point and shoot sometimes.........

  5. Here is another squid shot, but squeezed to the left. ;)

Low  but better shot in my opinion, feels less hemmed in. Love it. :bananashark: got any more of the squid in action

And i miss not having a DSLR sometimes....... bet you dont miss the shutter lag
