Just got back from a trip to CA's Big Sur coast under once in a century conditions. Great macro photography. Deep walls just covered in every square inch with life and a riot of color. Link is as follows:
Great shots - I'm impressed with the colour saturation that you are getting in your shots.
Your lighting is particularly impressive - very even without any backscatter. Were you using two strobes on manual? I really like the shots with the anemones and barnacle.
Its also a beautiful place above the waves too! (I particularly like the light in the vertical of the dive boat).
Thanks, I use 2 DS 125s. One hardwired to the Ike manual controller and the housing. The second is hooked up to an Ike TTL slave sensor. I get ratioed lighting by varying the distance of the strobe on the remote slave. I have tried setting both strobes to manual controllers but like this way much better. Coastline is very beautiful. Only problem is it is usually not dive-able. I have been scheduled for 5 trips to the Big Sur coast. Only 2 of them actually got there. A few shots ( including the ones of the Vision) were shot with the 5000 and one DS 50 strobe.
Great shots. Your rainbow top snail looks similiar to the purple ringed top snail you find in British Columbia.
Can't remember the correct name but the marine eco system from western Santa Rosa Island (California channel Islands) to BC is considered the same. So they are probably a closely related species.
