Aquatica D700 housing

Hi guy's here is a sneak at the Aquatica D700, it is machined from solid aluminum, emphasis has been made on controls and buttons location, it has an externally accessible port lock mechanism (yes folks we do listen to suggestions ), speaking of ports they are the same so any lenses that is popular underwater will fit, including the new huge diameter 14-24mm, same 300ft depth rating as its sibblings. i'll have a formal press release in a day or two.

This new housing is looking pretty sweet. Thanks for the sneak peek. It's getting harder and harder for me to justify the cost of my Subal. Will this housing fit both the D700 and the D300?

Hi Mike, in this case we could not implement a conversion like we did with the D200 to D300, these two cameras had he exact same housing front, so in this case it was just a matter of selling a rear and a tray, in the D700 case not only are the cameras quite different but the housings are totally different in shape and material as well. we looked at all and every angle to see if we could make it happen, but alas, it can't be made to happen this time :-(.

your housings keep getting better and better. I have a great suggestion. A helium bladder than fits inside the empty housing that would reduce the weight of the housing, ports and all the other stuff we place in carryons so that the total weight is under 15 pounds for the carryon.

When will Aquatica start to ship the housing?

Jean, nice looking housing. I am currently quite heavily invested in Subal but the prices are forcing me to consider another line (similar to an earlier post). I currently have a D3 and D700 that I am looking to house. Can you give me some idea on the timing for your new D700 housing? I have a group headed off to Palau later this year.

Hi guy's I will know more about delivery window in a day or two, I have to go and pull some teeth out of the production department, they are getting the time allocation schedule from the machinist and blah, blah, blah, once I know when all the nick nacks for that puzzle will arrive I can have a more definitive answer on the time frame, one thing for sure, we intend to be fast on this one, like being ready for a certain large dive equipment show coming soon perhaps...

Will the price be closer to that of the D3 housing or that of the D300 housing? I'm upgrading to digital right now and am wondering if I should wait for the D700. Thanks.

Hi John, I am getting a better view of what the going price will be, final pricing will be up on our web site in a day or two, but so far it is comfortably close to what the Aquatica D300 goes for.
