Neutral buoyant HC7 System

  1. So based on other threads I came up with a system that makes this system -1lb negative (estimate). Very easy to manage with one hand and sits on a little Gorilla Pod for macro work. Given the weight of the glass the StiX float ring really has it balanced evenly. Sorry no pictures as I have torn it down and packed it for our Lembeh trip in 2 days!

    Gates HC7 housing

    Fathoms SWP25

    HC7 Cam

    L&M 2000 LED lighting

    Used 2 tubes of:

1 ½” PVC, capped, total length of 15 ½ inches (Caps and all)

    StiX 10” Float Belt

I just used zip ties to secure the tubes to the L&M battery pods and a couple that rap around the tubes and the bar the handles attach to. I took two sections out of the StiX float ring and that gave enough room near the Filter Handle to move it with out getting caught in the ring.

Does the StiX float material compress at depth?

  3. When you get back and have some time, I would love to see a photo of how you set this up ... sounds interesting.
