I have read from Ikelites recommened port chart that the Sigma EX 18-50/2,8 DC Macro HSM for Nikon can not be used with the Ikelite housings since diameter is to large. I tried one with my ike housing on land last weekend and it seemed to work fine. The lens ( diameter 72mm) could be mounted in my 3503.55 port without problem. Possibly there could be problem to mount a filter or diopter but the naked lens worked OK.
I never tried it under water so I can not tell if optics under water works well but I did shot some pictues through the port on land and that worked well as far as I can see.
Has anyone of you tried this lens with Ikelite housings? Please advise here. I would like to buy one since it looks to me like a good "middle/fish" lens that as well can be used for macro, since the shortest focus distance is 20 cm only. However since Ike says it can't be used I feel a bit ...nervous.
