Ikelite Housing

3 posts
  1. I have acquired, via an auction of unidentifiable luggage, an Ikelite housing.

Is there anyway to figure out which camera fits inside, as there are no marks on the housing! I have no idea how old it is as the Customs officials were unable to confirm how long the Pelican case had been held in thier vaults. I was advised that the minimum time will be 6 months to allow passengers / airlines / insurance companies time to inquire etc....

Can anyone help? I'd like to see if I can get it back into service by buying the camera that it was designed for!

    Thanks,

    Kay

Have you considered sending images of the housing to Ikelite and asking if they can help you to figure out which camera the housing was designed for?

And, if sending images of the housing doesn't do the trick, as a last resort you could ship the housing to Ikelite so they could have it in their possession.

I'm sure one of the two solutions proposed above would get you the answer. Hopefully, the first proposed solution will work for you :-)

    Good luck.

  3. Ike housings have a serial number engraved in the "edge" of the thick back plate. That should also help Ikelite.
