Video camera for stills

  1. I am planning on getting the Sony Sr11 video camera. I started really getting excited about this

since L&M's new Bluefin housing came out. I really like all the features this housing has including

manual one push white balance control. I also have a complete fuji f50fd system with housing lights

wide-angle lens etc. In a display of my laziness, my question involves cutting down on travel gear.

If the SR11 is a 10megapixil camera, is it unreasonable to assume that I can just pack the Bluefin

with wide-angle lens amphibico discovery 10 hid lights and sr11, and have it cover both my video

and still photo needs. I know that I am not going to expect dslr results on the stills, but will it be close to p&s results? It would be nice to consolidate on the travel gear if possible.

Thanks in advance for any input.

    Jay

  2. Thinking the same thing. I shot some low light macro (a plastic dog toy) with my unhoused HDR SR11 in a dark room with an u/w video light. They did not look all that bad. Then I shot the same pics with my 40D. These images looked better but the difference was not as big as you would think. I would love to see if anyone else taken decent pictures underwater.

This is a great HD camera and I am considering getting the seatool housing for it
