"Rear exhaust" 2nd stage regs

3 posts
  1. Hi all,

I recently saw a diver using a normal scuba system, but he had what looked like a rebreather mouthpiece, from which two hoses led over his shoulders, and the exhaled air exited behind his head. I think this would be great for U/W photography, as any bubbles don't rattle around between mask ans housing. I currently dive twin 12litre setup, with Dacor Vypertec regs, which exhaust to the side, but I think a rear exhaust would be better.

Anyone use one of these rear exhaust systems? Who makes them, how much do they cost, and where can I get one? I live in the UK.

    Thanks in advance.

    Gary.

  2. Thanks Alex,

Seems like a good idea, but in practice, maybe more trouble than its worth?

Given the sometimes "odd" body positions in which I sometimes find myself in order to get "that" shot, maybe I will have a rethink.

Who knows, maybe an Inspiration tryout is coming next ! (Look out bank manager!)

I notice from the above thread it is a couple of years old, anyone know if the design has been modified, ie weighted hoses or something?

    Thanks again,

    Gary.
