  1. Ok, finally took some pics I thought I could show! Please criticize. Both have been at least trimmed from the originals.

    I like them Larth, my only comment for improvement is maybe a little increase of contrast and color saturation. At least on my monitor.

  3. Ditto. Coming across a little bland. Need more contrast.

    Also, on the shrimp photo, try for a better angle. Side view is better than top view, IMO.

  4. Thank you for the comments! Can the lack of contrast come from shooting with flashes at night?

  5. No I think it's just something you can just adjust in whatever photo editor you use to edit your images

    Nicely done, I like the squid shot (the angle) and some tweaks as Loftus suggested...

  7. Hey Lars,

    I played with your shot a little in LR and as the folks have noted as attached the histogram shows all the data piled up in the middle. I added about 1 stop of exposure and bumped up the contrast a little. You'll get something like this;

    I only spent a couple of minutes so it's probably a little overdone but you can get the idea. The right answer is somewhere in the middle. You'll do better with the original file. Have fun!

    Hey Steve,

    You've become quite the Lightroom guru! Time to take a break for a cold one. :lol:

    Thanks Jeff, I get a lot of practice trying to save all the crappy pictures I take. :lol:

    I did not think of the original as bland, but going back to it after seeing this makes it look ... bland. I really like how the spots between the eye and arms came out! Wow. Got to try that a bit more. Thanks Steve!
