Cal's freshwater diving pics

  1. Hey Guys,

I haven't been diving in 4 weeks due to 4500km move to a new uni :-)

So now I'm going crazy due to the lack of diving in my life!

So here are some revisited photos from Ewens Ponds, South Australia.

These shots were inspired by DD's "light, time and water." He dived at this site and took some shots that I tried to emulate. I really just wanted to show off the habitat and the stunning freshwater plants.

  2. Too bloody cold in Ewins Ponds this time of year!

Is that racehorse on the Warrnambool beach?

I had to do a couple of surveillance jobs in Warrnambool and I was amazed

at the amount of horse trainers that used the beach each morning.

Where about in Qld is the new Uni that you are attending?

    Bruce...

  3. Yo Bruce!

I'm in Townsville. I read somewhere you've got family up here?

"Is that racehorse on the Warrnambool beach?"

Not warrnambool, but similar thing. it was down in Western Port and there were at least 10 horses galloping around the beach.

  4. Hi Cal,

I have two of my sons up there and the dive instructor who taught me and I worked for

now owns a big surf wear store up there....his name is Chris Richards..aka, 'Chubbs'.

I will pm you 'other' details. . . . :uwphotog:

I'm heading up that way for 3-4 weeks at crissy-time.

I hope to dive the Yongala, etc...

    Bruce...

BTW, keep your head down, mouth shut and stay away from the AJ's...

  5. Hey Cal, that last shot is cool.

    Hi Bruce! ;)

  6. Hey Cal,

Let me get this straight... You moved from Melbourne to Townsville, and now you're having a lack of diving? Something's not quite right there.

I've got a mate up there that dives quite regularly, not a photographer, but if you need a budy, let me know, I'll send you his details.

    Ryan.

you'd think so right? but its really expensive to dive here where as in Melbourne I can just walk in from the shore. Melbourne's diving is stunningly cheap! Up here its a 1-2 hour boat ride to the reefs etc.

Good advice Bruce, I've heard some bad stories............ I'll just stick the uni areas lol

  8. Yep, that's the biggest problem with Queensland, the lack of shore dives. Get on a boat though, and it makes it all worth while :)

My advice, make friends with a boat owner ;)

  9. Hi Cal,

    PM sent. . . . ;)

    Bruce...
