switches and pushbuttons for DIY housing?

Hi, I'm wondering what the various kinds of switches and pushbuttons are used on commercial and DIY housings?

Does anyone have names or a list of suppliers handy?

Also wondering if anyone has tried piezo switches? These would appear to be a good solution, but I can't seem to find anything smaller than 16mm - which seems pretty big if you want to put a few on a grip.
