Long Island/Lopez Island San Juans

  1. Hadn't posted any shots here for a while. actually haven't had too much time for diving as we've been building a house. but I did get to go out on a friend's boat on Sunday to Lopez Island in the San Juans, north of Seattle.

Long Island is a high current area and has lots of color and life. We also dove a nearby rock off Lopez island that turned out to be pretty good, once we found the sweet spot.

Laila cockerelli (this was about 5/8" big, and one I'd never seen before)

Dendronotus dalli - these were huge!! I think bigger than reported largest 136mm, more like 180mm

Notice the Janolus fuscus in the corner, with eggs in the foreground

Shot with Nikon D80 60mm macro, a Woody at times and 2x Inon 240z.

    Enjoy,

  2. Rotate that Dendronotus diversicolor 90° CCW (personal opinion) and it's superb. Anemone soft pastels are nice too. :)
