My Red Sea/Oceanic White Tip Workshop has been full since the beginning of the year, but typically(!) with a month to go, a few people can't make it anymore.
So there are now 3 spaces available. If you are interested in joining this trip it is best to contact Red Sea Safaris directly as they are handling the bookings.
For more information post below or contact me.
Alex
Here is the official trip info - a few small details may have changed since this was written last year:
Join Alex on his 2008 digital photography workshop, 7th to 14th November 2008, in the southern Egyptian Red Sea, brought to you by Red Sea Safaris and Blue O Two. The trip will focus on photographic diving in the Deep South including the celebrated Elphinstone Reef, timed to coincide with the peak of the Oceanic Whitetip Shark season. If the sharks are around we will dedicate plenty time to photographing them. Weather permitting, of course. The area also offers dramatic reefs, exhilarating fish action and some interesting wrecks.
Following the pattern of Alex's liveaboard workshops, digital technique lectures will be split into bit-sized 20 minute morsels and given once or twice a day before dives. Not only does this provide detailed technical information when you need it, but it also frees up the evenings for one to one reviewing of your images, discussing post processing and troubleshooting. Alex will be assisted by the Scandinavian Top Underwater Photographer Lars Kirkegaard. Besides being an experienced dive instructor, Lars has previously worked as commercial photographer and holds a bachelor in Graphic Arts Management. He has been the Business Manager on the Scandinavian Dive magazine - DYK and organized The Copenhagen Diveshow for many years. Together with Alex he will make sure all the divers attending the workshop will get lots of 1:1 feedback on their images.
The trip will be on MY Blue Horizon (recently voted world's best liveaboard by the readers of Diver Magazine, UK), widely regarded as one of the best boats in the Red Sea (see the Blue O Two website for more details). The cost is £1200 which includes diving, accommodation, Alex's digital techniques workshop, food, soft drinks, transfers, Marine Park Fees etc. This price also includes direct flights to Hurghada from the U.K ,(London Gatwick) or Denmark (Copenhagen/ Billund). This is just £1 more than a standard trip on this boat in this the high season. Given the demand in previous years it is also possible for us to arrange flights from other European airports.
