  1. Well my future wife and I are planning to get married in the Grand Cayman this feb and were curious to know some must dive spots. We are novice nitrox divers and are open to any and all suggestions. I hopefully will have my alpha 700 ready to shoot our trip. We would also like to know some good snorkeling sites that maybe we could take our non-diving friends to thanks, cally.

  2. Must dive spots in G Cayman is kinda hard to answer as it can be seasonalitys that make the sites must dive, however in february I'd imagine it will be the weather controlling where you dive most. Being our winter Cayman will possibly have our North West Winds (Nor Westers) if this is the case you will not be able to dive the North Side and possibly even the West Side, which are normally our Leeward sides of the island making them the most dived areas.

This is not a bad thing South side of Grnd Cayman is one of my favourite dive areas and you really can't go wrong, it has to be done by boat and if you pick a good operator you will end up doing the better spots anyways I am sure but all the South Dive sites to me are fantastic. It is always good to try out the East side too there is only one operator over there, Ocean Frontiers (ok there is another but you don't need to know about them), you will always have a great time with Ocean Frontiers.

Again if you do happen to dive the West and North side which I would say there is a good chance you will I would do a boat dive for both with a good operator. However there are a few shore dive sites I would recommend too. Sunset House is always a nice chillaxin shore dive. Turtle Reef is a great Reef and I have been told the new Dive Tech shore dive is ok too ! Lesser high up on my shore dive list would be Eden Rock, Don Fosters Cassuarina Point and Cobalt Coast with Dive Tech.

Snokelling spots are fairly easy to pick out when you are down here. But here is a short list; Wreck of the Cali, Cemetary Reef, Eden Rock, Cheeseburger Reef (busy boat area may be best done on a trip) and unmissably .... Sting Ray City .. which is definately a boat trip and I would recommend one that doesn't deal with cruise ship guests that time of the year.

If you take a trip around the island there are other places to get in as well, many lagoons around the coastline have many unique finds and there is a few of my favourite places like Kaibo's Starfish Point and Rum Point where the water just grabs you and drags you in !
