Is it actually broken or just come apart? If broken, you would have to replace or perhaps send back to Ikelite for repair. An email to the repair department at Ikelite would get an answer to the question.

I have done exactly the same thing.
Ikelite will repair it, you don't have to buy a new one.

Me too. The black plastic shaft has two ears on it - which when turned hold the battery pack onto the strobe front. The lever is then depressed to tighten the connection and pre-load the o-ring. I have had the plastic ears break off of one of my DS125 packs. Just send it back to Ikelite and they will repair it.

that is exactly what happened!

the shipping costs kinda suck!

If you are handy and have a socket set, you can ask Ikelite to send you the part and you can easily change it yourself. I don't know if they do that but it's worth asking. I did that w/ mine, changing the part from another battery pack that I had that flooded.

Hi,
I wonder if anyone know what is the part number for that small black plastic on Ikelite? i just took both of my strobes from long storage (few month) prepare for a weekend diving and when try to open on both strobes, both were break, what a luck :-) .... it actually happened to me before like August last year, and the local dealer over here sold me the entire battery pack as he said Ikelite don't sell only the black plastic, wonder if i can just order it directly from Ikelite the small black plastic? if i just knew the part number.
thanks

Do you have any friend going to the US who might transport it to there for you? At least that would cut down the shipping costs.

I have received a few of these enquiries from my customers here in South Africa, I spoke to Mike in repairs at Ikelite and they have now made up a 'Toggle Pawl Replacement kit'.
It includes a new locking mechanism, Toggle Pawl (the part that breaks), nut, silicon grease and a small socket screwdriver for the nut with an instruction card.
The part number to ask for is #9457.62
Remember to keep the two springs and metal washers though!
regards
Nick

Something to bear in mind, this is bound to happen sooner or later.I noted the reply by Ikelite Cape Town and he also quotes a part number for a pawl kit
