  1. i just got my 40d ike housing and am finding that when i put the camera on the back plate that the on off lever only turns it on but can"t turn it off agian, i must be doing something wrong with the position of the lever when i first screw in the camera to the back plate any help from 40d ike housing owners would be much appreciated

  2. Try pulling the lever toward the back of the housing and then do it. In other words, pull it over the on/off switch on the camera.

the lever does not pull back, it only turns and does not move forward and back i don"t know if you have to jump over the the raised edge of the switch to get over the other side of the switch to turn it the other way,i don"t want to damage the lever on the housing or the switch on the camera by forcing it, will try and contact ikelite see what they have to say.cpa diver do you have the ike housing?

  4. If you can't get the lever to pull back and jump over the raised edge of the switch, then I would say you have an issue.

I have three of those housings and they all pull back. Not far, but they do pull back.

    I don't know why yours doesn't.

You may have to send it back for that.

Well i have found the problem i could not get it to budge by pulling the knob back so i pushed on the lever side with a bit of force and it freed itself and now i have about 5 mm or so travel in and out ,i did not want to force things to much as it usually leads to grief, i would like to thank you for your time and patience,i love this forum there is so many knowledgeable and helpful members ,which has helped me in my transition from p&s and DSLR.
