Can anyone make a custom synch cord?

  1. I have an Ikelite G9 housing, with Ike DS-125 and Sea&Sea YS-110 strobes. I have the S&S operating as a slave with an optic cable. I'd rather have a Y-cable, but Ike doesn't make one that will work for me. Does anyone know where I can get a custom Y-cable made with an Ike housing fitting and one-Ike/one-S&S fitting?

Thanks. I contacted them and they said they did not have such a cord...I guess I should have been their best salesman by ASKING if they could make one custom...I'll try them again.

  4. I think you'd be better off in the long run replacing one of your strobes. Using a custom cable means having to carry your own spares and being incompatible with everyone you dive with.

  5. Hi Shane,

Do you use manual flash, or do you want eTTL? Sorry not very familier with Canon do any of the flash sockets/bulkheads on camera housing or strobes have 6 pins or are they all 5 pin?

    William,

I tried asking Ikelite the same question less than a month ago and got a straight -NO!

Mine wasn't even difficult, I just wanted a standard cord but only 10" in total length.

    Bruce...

  7. I have been talking with Ryan at Reef Photo regarding custom cables. I believe he may be able to help. But be sitting down when he tells you the price. (I think they are just expensive to make. I know he is not profiteering)
