Hey Wetpixelators,
So I drove an hour or so inland to snorkel some creeks and lagoons.
I had to hike a few k's uphill carrying my full compliment of UW camera gear on my back and snorkel in hand.
The terrain was amazing with craggy rocks and eucalyptus forest surrounding me.
The waterways were fascinating with some incredible aquatic life I hadnt seen before.
Underwater, there wasn't much that was feasible to photograph wtih my tokina 10-17mm so I tried to produce some interesting O/U shots.

The underwater terrain was fascinating. At some places the bottom was several feet deep of sludge whist others had gorgeous white sand. I tried to demonstrate the difference in a few of my shots.

Of particular interest, at one part of a series of inter-connected waterholes, I found a strange algae that looked like feathers. It was really quite beautiful until distrubed when it puffed up in a cloud of yellowy debri.

At some of the waterholes, the viz was astounding. I literally looked underwater, then had to lift my head out because I couldn't quite believe what i as seeing.

On the way home, I stopped by a small river to get this shot. It's probably my favorite of the day. Small fish were hiding amongst the shelter provided by the branches.
