Canon HV 10 - Ikelite - Inon UWL-100 wide angle problems

2 posts
  1. I have a Canon HV10 and an Ikelite - so far very happy with this. Warned by the numerous wide angle discussions, I carefully selected and decided for the Inon-UWL-100, type 2, which was recommended by Ikelite and supposed to be the best. Result: I have a slight vignetting and terribly blurred egdes. Depending on the zoom, 20% to 50% of the footage is not sharp.

This wide angle has been recommended by many test and by many people - obviously with other camcorders / housings or am I completely on the wrong page?

Any suggestions, confirmations, advice etc are appreciated. I am puzzled.

By the way - let's assume for a second the UWL-100 wide angle really does not work with HV10/Ikelite - can anybody make a reliable suggestion for a wide angle solution?

    Best, Greg

  2. Unfortunately that is the problem with that lens. You can't solve the problem, I believe that Fathom ports have made a WA for Ikelite in which you actually remove he front port and then screw the fathom onto the front. I believe it is around $800, have a look on the Ike website. There has also been a few threads on here about it, but for the HV20 and 30 I believe.
