Before they were shells on a shelf - cowries

  1. Greetings underwater friends.

These large cowries were feeding on a soft coral in Indonesia (Raja Ampat).

It was very hard to control the exposure in this image (even when playing in raw)

These guys were cruising for a feed (about to start perhaps?)

  2. Cool photos. I saw one of them in Wakatobi but it was hiding behind some soft coral and it was hard to get a good photo.

  3. Thanks. Im interested if anyone knows if they normally hang out in pairs like this or was I just lucky? In Australia, I have only ever seen big ones as single animals. Let me know your experience.

    Cheers

    Steve

  4. I don't really remember. I think other divers said there were 2 but I only remember seeing one. I'd have to go back and look at my photo (if I can every find it :uwphotog: ) and see what I came up with.
