wide angle adapter behind flat port?

6 posts
  1. As the title says. Anyone used a wide angle adaptor behind a flat port on a FX1 bluefin? Thinking of using a red eye 0.4x Might have to zoom a fraction to get round vignetting. Thoughts.....

    thanx in advance

  2. Do your homework on the red eye. It's very thin for a W/A adapter, but that convenience has it's drawbacks. Bunch of threads on it over on the DVinfo.net forum.

  3. You also will lose 25% of the wideangle due to the water magnification. Dome ports are definitely better for WA lenses.

  4. Yes you lose 25% of the wide angle behind that flat port but you may find you will get quite abit more zooming in range though.

  5. I don't think you could physically fit the REDEYE in the bluefin housing / flat port combo and retain use of the flip filters.

  6. Having done an extensive measuring exercise, i could fit the red eye onto the lens of the FX1, and it will just miss the inside face of the flat port glass. Use of the flip filters would be impossible though, your right pmooney.

Ideally i'd buy the 80 degree wide port, but due to world financial crisis the redeye option might be all i can afford! It might be a complete waste of effort though if the picture quality is bad.
