Really great shots! It looks like you and the napoleon wrasse had a good together as well with the white tip. How would you compare the diving to the other fantastic places that you have been. thanks scott
You've really got a beautiful collection of images there Stew. I love ALL of the shark images and your shots of the Napolean Wrasse are about the best I've ever seen. Outstanding work! Robyn

I really love the Red Sea, go to outer reefs and gin clear waters, great viz can usually be expected. The soft coral are amazing and my photos do not do them justice, seriously, The Brothers are dripping in all different colours. Fish life is also amazing, do your homework to find out where your best shark action will be and you can have anything from a whitetip reef to a tiger shark or whale shark. I havent dived up north, but I am just having a property built on the outskirts of Sharm El Sheikh ( Nabq ) so I will be doing plenty of diving up north in the new year when the property is complete.
I would not like to compare The Red Sea diving with places like Cocos or Galapagos as they are 2 of a selected few places in the world that are very speacial places to dive.
The Red Sea IMHO has loads to offer, but like any destination, you do have to do your homework as to who you are giving your money to. Water temperature can drop at certain times of the year and a dry suit wouldnt be out of place.
Cheers for the comments, stew

I went on this holiday with a totally different attitude regarding my photography. I had only just purchesed the 10-17mm and had done plenty of reading through the posts on WP to try and gain as much knowledge as possible. I thought a lot about composition and took far less shots than i had on previous trips. trying to get it right first time. I have probably become my worst critic too, which is not a bad thing. I deleted a lot of shots this year in the camera and didnt even upload them to my pc as i knew i would have to work them to death in PS and I would rather learn the hard way and get them as best as possible on the sensor rather than spending hours in PS. All of the shots on show were only tweaked and obviously framed in PS.
I am pretty lucky with regards to the larger species, whether it is mantas or wrasse, they always seem to come to check me out. We had large Napoleons follow us on a few dives.
