I've been an avid photographer for several years now and am now working on my major in photography and biology. My dad and I are hoping to go on a dive trip over spring break and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to go where I can rent a housing/equipment and learn from somebody who actually knows what they're doing. I have found several places that accommodate people with point and shoots but I have an SLR which I would like to use (Canon XTi right now, saving up for the 1D Mark III).

Hi, Mathew - and welcome to Wetpixel!
I took some instruction this summer at the Cathy Church school on Grand Cayman and it was terrific. They cater to all levels of experience and I know they will rent Nikon housings ... I'm not sure about Canon.
Thanks. I think I looked at their website. I'll check it out though.
Anyone know of anyone who rents Canon?
I'm a big fan of Stephen Frink's UW Photography classes. He does a great job.
borrowlenses.com looks fantastic. Now do you know where I can rent a housing and stuff?
If you want to go on the cheap end, take a UW photo class at your local dive-shop. I know PADI has an ok UW digital photography class and I assume other agencies will have something similar.
I haven't taken any classes in Grand Cayman, but I've been diving there and it is a great place to take some great photos. Just make sure you book a Stingray-City trip.
