Fantasea FSB 800 Housings with Ikelite Housing

  1. G'day all,

My first topic on this forum. I am relatively new to underwater photography. I apologize for starting with a question. I hope to be able to contribute as my skills improve.

I have an Ikelite D300 housing and would like to add some strobes. I currently own two SB 800 flashes. I thought that using the Fantasea FSB 800 housing may be a good solution given their high power and compatibility.

Does anyone use this combo and if so could you tell me the sync cable required.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Those housings have been discontinued. You would need an adapter or different bulkhead as they use a Nikonos connection. I used one in TTL with my housing and gotten good results. You would need to add a fiber optic cord between them for TTL via command mode.

  3. Thanks Jack,

Do you know if such a sync cord exists (Nikonos 5 pin to Ikelite housing)?

My concern is whether TTL or better still iTTL would work through such a connection.

    Regards,

  4. I think Ike has one, but I believe you'd have to use their TTL adapter. Contact them for answers.
