Does this boat really exist?

  1. Arenui

Stumbled across an ad once. Bookmarked it. Never heard of anyone going on it.

  2. It's a new one on me. If you guys want to take up a collection, I'll volunteer to be the guinea pig and go check it out. Looks like a super itinerary on a well staffed boat.

    If it actually exists.

  4. Looks like it isn't available for charter until March 2009. The boat's probably new and is not ready yet. The pictures all look generic. The domain name is registered to a holding company in Hong Kong. Before I sent them any money, I would talk to the guys at Dive Discovery (if you're in the US). Since they are listed as a booking agent, they might have more info on the vessel.

They seem a bit deceptive. "The boat is dry docked every year" Alleged photo of the actual room.

I don't talk to Dive Discovery

    Mighty generous of you, Steve.

Glad to see you willing to take one for the team.. as long as the team pays. :-)

    :)

  7. It's an italian run boat that's partially owned by "US interests" :).

  8. Well, I'm booked on the March trip so it better exist! Seriously though, I've exchanged a lot of emails with the guy running the operation and he was very professional and thorough in his answers (more than I can say for some others) which convinced me to go for the trip - and of course the dream itinerary. Will let you guys have my feedback of course afterwards, but looking out the window at darkness and rain, March still seems way too far off to suit me...

  9. Hello all,

I, too, am a U.S. booking agent for Arenui. The boat is still under construction with the interior being completed now. I have photos of the actual vessel during construction. They have changed a few of their initial itineraries since their website was originally posted because they were a little too extensive for the amount of time allocated for the trips, but the operations manager has been in the business for a while....let me know if you need any other information....

I had a client booked on one of their initial trips and after they changed the itinerary to something he'd already done, they quickly refunded his deposit. I've had nothing but positive responses from them. Hope that helps!
