Well I'm just back from raja ampat, ondina with deb,and tony fuggit. They run some of the best trips I've been on. Unfortunately I'm in a hotel, having been evacuated from our house, because of the sylmar fire in la. God I hope it doesnt burn down. We were able to get out with our three dogs, and three cats, laptop, and a case full of hard drives. This gives me time to work on my pics. This is one of my favorites. I was shooting at arborei pier, when these kids started diving down at me. I dont know who enjoyed it more , the kids or I. More to come

I'm glad to hear you are safe. I'm housebound here in Woodland Hills as it is snowing ashes and smoke from the Sylmar fire. I hope our brave firefighters keep the fire away from your home. Thanks for sharing the wonderful image, especially under such circumstances.
Best wishes to you and your family.

When you say "arborei peir" do you mean "arborek peir", the little island right next manta point?
If it's the one, I spend a few days at the chief of the village house, and dived for free right from the pier several times. I was amazed by the number of things one can find just below the pier.
I found a yellow ghostpipe fish, hundreds of nudies, many many mantis shrimps, and many other little wonders.
But then I could not stay on the island because it was stinking hot and there neither was wind nor fans. I understood why the islanders they just sit there all day not doing much.
Thank you for you picture, it reminds me of that time.
Cheers

May be. Thats what the divemaster called the dive site. Its the best pier dive for wide angle I've seen. Eventually I'll post on flickr

Cool, when I dived at manta point the visibility was so low that we could barely see the mantas swimming about.
Good shot
