  1. I recently acquire a U/W Housing Titan D200 for my Nikon and when I install the Strobes (2 sea & sea YS90) these, do not fire. I tried on different modes and nothing

I was wondering if I need to change the settings on my camera. Please help me.

    Thank you,

I don't want to insult you, but have you read the Titan owners manual? I owned one and there is a setting on the housing for which strobes you will be using. That must be set correctly or the strobes will not fire correctly.

I doubt it is a cable issue as you are probably using 2 sync cords, yes?

Other than that issue, check that the hotshoe is on the camera mount correctly.

You can also "reset all" on the Nikon in case you have inadvertently changes a setting which would stop the hotshoe from working (can't think of one off the top of my head.

Keep us posted on your findings.

Matt, No problem I am here to learn. However I read the manual, and the L&M set the SY90 Strobe's L & R as defult. I though about the cords but I try them on a diferent housing and they work. How I know if I disable the hotshoe on my camera?

    Thank you,

    Thank you,

Yes, I seem to remember that the YS-90's were the default on the Titan. Go ahead and do a "reset all" on the Nikon menu which will bring the camera back to factory default. If that doesn't work, you should write or call L&M to describe the problem and steps you have taken to try and get it to work.

Last but not least, I know you can shut off the strobes from the housing controls. Again, you have probably checked this but i am trying to think of everything which could cause this to happen.

There are contacts on the hotshoe which if bridged will cause the strobe to fire full. Unfortunately I don't know which ones they are. This would at least test if the wiring is good to your strobes. Someone else here at Wetpixel will know which contacts to bridge.

  7. Great news!

Ill be shooting with the housing next wednesday for a night dive. I was wondering, can I use the Dome Port with the 60mm lens?

Macro or fish portraits? I have never tried that combo and it is not the recommended setup, but if that is the only port you have, give it a try. You might get interesting results. Just be aware that your corners might be terrible and you will have to correct for chromatic aberrations.

  9. I often use my 60mm lens in a dome port. It will work fine as long at the dome port is the correct length for the lens. If it is too short, the front element of the lens may hit the port when focusing on closer objects. Too long and you may get vignetting or distortion at the edges.

Note that you won't be able to get to 1:1 with the lens in a dome port without using a diopter.
