Mac Adobe Premiere 4.01 Update (Are other 64 Bit Far Behind?)

  1. New update for Premiere just released. Interesting

The Adobe Premiere Pro 4.0.1 update opens the door to even greater workflow flexibility by making it possible to open any Final Cut Pro project in Adobe Premiere Pro and by enhancing AAF project interchange and OMF export. Additionally, Adobe Premiere Pro 4.0.1 was re-architected for 64-bit operating systems to use large memory more effectively (up to 20GB of memory for Adobe Premiere Pro alone, up to 64GB of memory for a large Production Premium workflow).
  2. Great news if you need to swap projects between a PC and a Mac. I've always found it very difficult to convert files so that you can use them on both formats - even some files you'd not ever imagine to be a problem can take hours to get working. Maybe its time for a PC/Mac love in? :)

    Cheers, Simon

  3. Drew...very cool...maybe you can write up the workflow for that process...FC to PP or back. Wonder if there would be a loss of resolution.

I am not sure if that equals computer po_n or not, and if so it may be against the WP rules. :P

Have not downloaded the update yet, but will do so in the next day or two when I am done with what I am working on now (Do not want to upset the Apple Cart as it were :monkey:)

Can try to go back and forth with FCP and PRemiere on the Mac side and see how it goes. Do not have Premiere for PC though, last version on that side of things was probably around the time when they dumped Mac support. Up until then I kept all Premiere versions on both Mac and PC....
