New question on the nikon D300?

  1. a friend wrote me this on another board.

"Hi Scott, Note that since the Seatool is such a form fitting housing, you have to remove the metal strap clips from the camera body itself (not just the strap). So I'm not sure if there is an easy on off solution that is quick. Let me know if you find one."

My question is this, do I have to remove the metal strap do hicky's from the camera to fit into the housing safely??? thanks, sorry about all the questions. Scott

  2. Gee.....those must be though to remove without destroying them.....

  3. Just use your backup body for topside shots. You do have a backup just in case?

  4. Yes, you have to remove them but, no, its not hard and you won't destroy them. It's not a quick conversion so you will need a different strap solution or go without.

  5. I've never heard of Seatool housings - glad I didnt buy one though! On my subal housing you only have to remove the strap, eyepiece & plastic lcd screen clip.

  6. For Aquatica housing u have to remove them

  7. Odd, my D300 fits into my seatool housing with the metal clips still attached, though i haven't dived with it yet. On a related note, do you know if you are supposed remove the viewfinder eyepiece as well?
