Amphibico Endeavor + V1U video coming up for sale...

  1. I have a bit more stuff to capture from recent trips before I can actually let the camcorder go, but can hustle that up if someone is hot to get this for an upcoming trip or before Christmas.

Amphibico Endeavor housing for Sony Z1U/V1U:

    http://www.amphibico.com/amphibico/product...mp;pdid=1000189

Purchase last fall, has about 50 hours in the water on it. Includes flat port (never dived), 94-degree dome port (has one small pit that is invisible and undetectable in-water), custom carrying case. This unit also has the high definition monitor back, which doesn't appear as available any more on the Amphibico website. New, with standard monitor back, this setup is $7920. As they didn't price it out for me separately, I can only go on recall for the HD monitor upgrade, but it was in the neighborhood of $1500. I am asking $7000 for the item as listed, and will entertain serious offers. The item still has spare O-ring sets, tools, etc. Has never been flooded, looks nearly new, and is a delight to use. I just need to get something smaller.

Purchased at the same time: two Amphibico Discovery 10 arc lights, with two sets of batteries each, and two Sony dual-battery chargers. About 20 hours of burn time on lights and batteries. Amphibico sells the lights alone new for $995 each now. Additionally, I am including eight NP-F570 batteries (each light requires two, so this is two full sets, B&H has them at $45 each ==> $360) and two Sony BCV-500 dual-battery chargers (allowing you to charge the spare set for both lights all at once, B&H sells them used for $69). Asking $1800 for the lights, batteries and chargers. Serious offers entertained.

Purchased at the same time: Sony HVR-V1U camcorder, now about $2900 new at B&H after rebate. Original box, all contents, save supplied camcorder battery. Condition of camera is excellent except for a small scuff on the lens coating off to the lower left side where the Endeavor flip-out red filter appears to have brushed against the lens during flip-in/flip-out. I have not been able to detect this scuff in either UW or topside video, but it is there and is clearly visible from the outside when the lens catches the light just right. Hour meter currently shows 70H total, 40H drum run. I will be adding about 10 hours to this capturing remaining video from tape. I have replaced the originally supplied NP-F570 battery with two NP-F770 batteries (and stole the NP-F570 for the light set above), which give much longer life between charges. This would also include a Century Optics HD .65X wide angle converter:

    B&H: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/4887...Wide_Angle.html

for topside use, a cheap lens cap (so you don't have to travel with the matte box on to protect the front glass), and a Sony AC-V700 charger:

    http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/2438...er_Adapter.html

for the camcorder batteries. Asking $2000 for the items listed. Again, serious offers entertained.

Or you can do the whole shooting match (lights, housing, camera) for $10,000. Or make a serious offer.

Would greatly prefer to sell these items (or the system) in the US. Prices given do not include shipping or insurance costs.

Inquiries to rlmalisz@nguzu.com. Thank you for your interest.

  2. I have completed capture, and am ready to sell. Note there is one major update. The "scuff" on the V1U lens coating must have been O-ring grease or something similar, as it cleaned off. So the camcorder is in perfect (used) condition. I am also happy to send anyone interested a photo of the WA port, so they can see how insignificant the pit in it is.

Prices as below, but will happily consider serious offers in the ballpark.

  3. Hi,

Does this housing work with the FX7? Could you please post some pictures?

    Thanks

  4. Richard, the Endeavor does not fit the Z1... only the V1. You may want to clarify that before you get a return request LOL

  5. Richard, the Endeavor does not fit the Z1... only the V1. You may want to clarify that before you get a return request LOL

Gack!! It's the V1U and the FX7. My apologies. I have the V1U. Amphibico's site says it's for those two, not the Z*.

    Again, a thousand pardons.

  6. Hi,

Does this housing work with the FX7? Could you please post some pictures?

    Thanks

Yes, it works with the FX7 and V1U. Drew is absolutely right about it not fitting any of the Z-series.

There are a couple good photos of the model on the Amphibico site through the link I listed above. Mine looks very much like that. Has the HD monitor instead of the SD monitor. The tiny plastic glides that come glued into recesses on the bottom are gone--they protrude just enough to snag on edges on camera tables if the handler slides them onto same. There is the one tiny pit off-center on the WA port. There's a few spots where the port guards show a little wear.

Tell you what--I can post photos tomorrow morning, when I have decent light (I hope) in this room.
