Thinking about getting a 9.25" for wide angle. I was disappointed with the 6" and the tokinina 10-17 very soft at f stops >8, my 8" is ok is the 9.25" better than the 8 and worth the extra weight /size in packing?

i'd say it is, i noticed a difference when i upgraded from the 8" to the 9.25". not only is a bigger dome better, but being optical glass vs acrylic, the optics are superior. whether its worth the money and size/weight is up to you.

Sadly, yes. Pack less clothes.

I didn't used the Tokina 10-17mm with the 8" dome but with the 9.25" works great
