Sigma 17-70 & Subal

  1. I bought the Sigma 17-70 zoom some time ago and have been really pleased with the results behind the FE2 dome and the 33mm EXR but no diopter - I did not think one was required...

I was just checking the Subal site for information about the Tokina 11-16 and noticed that for the Sigma 17-70 they recommend a +2 72mm diopter.

What is everybody using out there with this popular lens?

    Thanks, Don

  2. I've used it both with and without the dioptre and can't see much difference, maybe a tad sharper in the corners at 17mm. Downside of the dioptre with the 33mm extension is that you can't zoom right in to 70mm, the dioptre mount hits the dome at about 62mm with the Marumi +2 I'm using. I've given up using it because of this.

    Gudge, thanks!
