Hi all,
This is a photo I took in the Red Sea a while ago - as it came out of my camera. I really like the image, but am wondering how it can be improved.
Being slightly in front of the group would have been better I think.

I really like it : the lighting fades from strobe light on the left to natural further away. The school swim direction leads you diagonal, and the Anthias is just on one of the rule of third center points AND swims in the right direction.
Is it with a compact: the format looks a bit more square then 2/3 ?
Thanks for your comments - It was taken with a Fuji F810 in a Fuji housing and an external strobe.

I would crop out or burn in the first very bright fish on the left as it just keeps pulling the eye back from the direction in which the image flows. Hard to light, I know.
I do not think that this beautiful image should be changed at all.

Thats a nice picture! Just some adjustement (sharpness, etc...)
Just a suggestions......... (I erased the burn fish on the left)

Loftus and merlinos, I can see what you mean about the bright fish on the left. Much less distracting with it cropped out. Thanks.
I was going to have a fiddle with that and maybe tone down the cyan a little. You beat me to it.
I just noticed that the Anthias looks a bit worried. ![]()

I really like what Merlinos did too. You guys come up with the greatest ideas.

This may be a bit strange, but I think that a minor technical imperfection gives an air of reality to some images, and, in this case, increases its dramatic effect. The over-exposed sweepers balance the bright Anthias on the other side of the image, and help my eye flow across the mass of well-exposed sweepers, and back again. If the bright patch is lost, I find that my eye moves to the Anthias, and then sticks, reducing the dramatic tension between the right and left sides of the image.
