I am thinking of going FULL frame, with Nikon of course and trying to find what macro/wide to use. Thought of Nikon 70-180 macro zoom and a 14-24 Wide angle.
Which way would you go.
Thanks Tez

70-180mm. Yes.
14-24mm. No. I'd go fisheye instead. Then add a 17-35mm.

Thanks Alex nearly bought a 14-24last week, thought it would replace my 12-24 DX that I had on my D70, can't afford both wide lenses yet will see how much they cost might go for the fisheye first. Also have heard full frame have some problems with wide angle lenses is that true.
thanks Tez
The Tamron 70-200 f2.8 macro is also excellent. My review should be posted shortly. Might be worth a try if you can't get your hands on a 70-180.
Cheers

You may want to seriously look at the 17-35 which is probably the go to wide angle lens after a fisheye for Nikon FF presently. It appears the 17-35 is or will be discontinued, and although there's talk of a 16-35 or similar replacement, that's not quite clear right now.
Just something to think about.

I'm really looking forward to this review - especially having seen the images on the forums. Could be the beginning of a completely new lens becoming a mainstream option in underwater photography.

Alex: great! The report has been sent in and should be posted shortly - I was very thorough with this one because I know the interest level is high - and rightly so. The review will also appear in Peter's magazine in January.
Cheers

No one has mentioned the Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro... are the zooms so good they eclipse the prime? I don't have full format, but thought it might sense to buy a lens for my DX AND for a future FX...

A agree on the 150mm, as I am sure James would too. I covered it in both my recent FX reviews here:
