Canon 450D/XSi + Hugyfot housing: which strobe and sync method ??

  1. Dear All,

I just upgraded my kit from a Canon G9 + Canon housing to a Canon 450D + Hugyfot housing .... For the time being I had installed only one fiber optic connection in order to be able to use my Inon D2000 type 2 strobe, either in S-TTL or manual. I am a macro fan so I bought a Canon 60mm macro lens and the Hugyfot port to house this lens; the kit is completed by a 10Bar focus light and Ultralight arms for the strobe and the focus light. I think this should be OK as a starp-up kit for macro, but I do realize that I might want to upgrade it in the near future adding a second strobe.

I would eventually consider to add a wide angle lens and his port to kit, so it makes sense to have a twin strobe setup also for this purpose

Would you add a second INON D2000 strobe and connect it via fiber optic or would you add an INON Z240 strobe + an Heinrichs Weikamp E-TTL converter + a 5-pin Nikonos bulkhead and use the INON Z240 a the primary strobe and the INON D2000 as a secondary/slave strobe ???

Will the extra money spent in the Z240 option be a good investment ???

Thak you very much for your time and opinion !!!

    All the Best ..... Frisco
