Diving others areas at Bali?

5 posts
  1. Hi.

I heading to Bali for this Christmast from 27th till 10th . I have been diving Bali 3 times before (always in august) in Tulamben and Nusa Penida, so i was planing to move to other areas like Menjangan and Padang Bai. Could someone please help me with any advice about these areas, like best dive resorts, dive centers, dive sites...etc.

    Thanks :)

  2. secret bay and puri jati are easily done from the menjangan area (pemuteran)

    Try Bali Diving Academy. www.scubali.com

  3. You'll find quite a bit of information in this subforum regarding Bali. Do a search to get details.

There are quite a few ways to do it. You can base yourself in Candidasa/Padang Bai and dive from there. There are plenty of ops there. Alternatively, you can arrange with an operator who will handle all your diving island wide, including booking accomodation etc. Many people who do Menjangan/Secret Bay base themselves in Pemuteran but I like to be very close to the dive site so I can do a very long night dive in Secret Bay and not have to drive 40 mins back to the hotel.

  4. I've used Mike's recommendation of BDA a couple of time and have always been happy with them. Although it's not the right season for Molas, you may also want to consider Lembongan for a couple of days. The diving out there is quite different from what you find around most of Bali.

Menjangan is really a nice place to dive, with both Pelagic and macro stuff, nice corals, lots of pygmy seahorse and good visibility. I would rate it better than tulamben.

Last time we dive with a small operation named Wisnu (lovinadive) and they are very professinal and the price was very good as well.
