C-4040/DS-125 images from Thailad & Myanmar

  1. I just returned from a 7-day liveaboard trip into Myanmar (Burma) and some day trips out of Thailand. this was the first time I got to use the C4040/Ike housing/DS-125 system extensively. I'm super happy with the setup but I'm convinced there's a problem with the strobe/sensor. Anyway, on with the pics...

  3. Very nice shots.

So, please tell us about using the macro adapter. Did you preset focus, and use a framer? Or autofocus? Or???

Thanks. I agree with Sabine. Link to your gallery please!

  4. Thanks guys. You can go here for all of my photos from this trip:Thailand & Burma Photos

From this page you can select the other three galleries of photos.

Using the macro addapter lens is pretty simple. Install the lens, put the camere in macro mode and use as you would without the lens (but don't take shots farther than about 24" away). The autofocus works well and the zoom still works as you would expect but now you can focus down to within a few inches. If you zoom out to 105mm (equiv) you can shoot small critters from far away enough to not scare them. That's the beauty of long-lens macro. It is worth noting that the auto-focus seems to do more searching with the macro lens on. Because of this, be really sure it has focused on what you want and double check after the shot by zooming in.
