To give a "legal" way to add a second (or third) favorite image for the year, I thought I'd start a new thread focused on the "Face of the New Year" ... please post your pics of little ones ... of any species ...

Here's my two favorites - first being a little, tiny squirrel fish I saw at the end of a night dive this summer on Sunset Reef on the East End of Grand Cayman ... and the second being my son just after a big cannonball splash in the pool.

The little guy, (I assume he's your progeny) is pretty cute.

Anyway, nice meeting you online this year, hopefully I'll hook up with you and Drew sometime for a drink (or two) in the not too distant future.

Have a great holiday and 2009. (Still hoping the bailout and Obama's plans work, though I think we're still in for a pretty rough 6-12 months at least).

Found a couple of my 'little guys' hamming it up earlier this year.

Here is the kid picture I like the best from 2008. A stream in northern Sweden with brown water and lots of sediment and my snorkeling son. He is just in his bathing trunks, I am in a 5 mm full wetsuit to stand the cold.
