S&S e-ttl cnvtr with 5DMk2

  1. Hi,

While my buddy test his new 5DMk2 last week, he noticed ttl is not working properly. After return

from the trip, he did test & following is what he found. His old 5d setup(w/ same ttl cnvtr+same strobe)

still working fine & when he hookup 580 strobe it worked fine too. He changed compensation on camera

& ttl convtr few times but, result was same.

Please, advise me if anybody tested S&S ttl cnvtr with 5DMk2.

  2. The lower one looks like manual. Top one seems to be doing something, but not very useful. Alex

  3. 580 test.

  4. Sam,

It looks to me like it's just telling the 240's to do a full dump - which is what usually happens when you hook a TTL strobe up to a camera it can't TTL with.

    Cheers

Yeah, looking at the bottom pics, the strobes should have enough juice to light up at f22 but it doesn't. But then again, that could be Canon eTTL, I can't get consistent results by just pointing and shooting. Still at f2.8/5.6, it's overexposing compared to the 580. Are you sure the settings on the converter were constant?

Contact HeinrichsWeikamp. I think they are the oem for the S&S TTL converter.
