If you're unable to find a used one at a good price ( and I wish you luck), Tri-State carries them new for $479.

I just got mine THIS MORNING. I jumped on a Buy It Now on ebay after watching for weeks.

    Lucky boy!

Thanks for advice - these things really do seem rare 2nd-hand: must be testament to the lens.

Im already a few pounds lighter having shelled out for a subal housing: every penny counts so Im gonna keep looking (and hoping / praying).

    Thanks again tho, much appreciated.

Or I can have my friend send you one from Hong Kong. I bought all my camera and lenses from him. If you do choose to buy, tell him I (Dominic) send you. That will guarantee fastest shipping.

Did for me! If you have probs, try www.keaphoto.com and search from there.

Thanks for the tip CADiver - thats a few pounds cheaper than my previous best, which was also a HK on-line shop.

Still looking for 2nd-hand if poss though....

  7. Well thanks for your help but I decided to go for a UK-based seller. I got a brand new lens from London Camera Exchange, £349. Their last one, so I'm glad I got in before the price increase.

Other places have upped their prices from the 350 mark to 420. Ouch!

Great ! ... & that's because the gloabal economic crisis, all sorts of currency had become weak but then Yen stay consistent, so suddenly their products became expensive, 1 USD = 90 Yen now vs 110 a year or so ago ! My friend told me everything price went up, he has to redo all the pricing too sad to say.

OK, Sorry ! Thanks ! I thought it was a good thing for the community especially for those international members but seems not, sorry ! I will shut up ... :-)

It was just a friend's business, not my business. Just like recommending reefphoto or backscatter & that it seems to be more acceptable by the US audiance than recommending anyone outside of the US.

    Cheers !
