Loving Summer!

8 posts
  1. Hi all,

We've been having pretty great weather in this part of the world lately, so I thought I'd share some of our summer with all you northerners, with some images from the last month or so. I've had a fair bit of spare time, so am making the most of that fact!

I only started with a SLR a few months ago, but am loving it. Any feedback would be appreciated! All taken with 40D in Aquatica.

    Cheers,

    Ryan.

  2. Thanks for the great photos Ryan! These images from warmer waters help to keep one's sanity in the long and dark northern winter.

I'm allso thinking of upgrading to SLR this year and these pictures just urge me to do it sooner

    Cheers

    Karel

  3. A nice collection Aussie - were the ghost pipes hard to find at Byron Bay or are there a few hanging around?

  4. Absolutely stunning. Sure makes me long to get back in the waters in your part of the world.

  5. Many thanks for the comments. I'm glad to be able to share what we have in our waters with the rest of the world

Hi Stephen. I've spent about 5 years searching for them at Julian with no luck. Last friday I did a dive with another local photographer down there, and he spotted 5 of the buggers! I have a fairly good idea where they are now though, plan on heading down again soon.

    Ryan.

  6. Beautiful Ryan, the transition from a G7 to the 40D did not take long and the results are great. :) :)

    Cheers mate,

5 In one dive, that is great!!!

Im thinking about going up there for their underwater shootout in late April/May.

You should! I was there for a few days of it last year, really enjoyed myself. I was shooting with a compact camera then, so the competition was a little easier, not so confidant this year! With a bit of luck we'll get good conditions this time too.

I haven't really looked over this year's events, but last year we had the Aussie premier of Sharkwater, a photo workshop with Mathieu Meur, plus the photo comp of course. I'm looking forward to it!
