Inon -0,5 vs -1,5 diffusor

5 posts
  1. Hello all,

recently I got myself the Inons-Z240, after one of my sea&sea's finaly died after for a long lifetime. Inon supply's both -0,5 and -1,5 diffusors for the strobe. Are there situations that someone would prefer the -1,5 over the -0,5? I havent been able to get the Inons wet yet, it seems logical to me to attach the -0,5 in order to maintain most of its power. Is there someone who can tell a little more about these 2 diffusors? Specialy when or why he/she prefers the -1,5?

    thanks in advance,

    greetzz Robin

  2. I tend to use -0.5. When I have tested the -1.5 it just seems to cut more light without having much effect on widening the beam.

  3. It seems to me that I would have to turn wick up a bit if I used the -1.5 diffuser. So whats the point using it?

However it does occur to me that it may be conceivably possible that despite turning the Z-240s output down as low as possible, could an over-exposure still happen? If so, the -1.5 may make the difference. But I always leave them at home...

I have four if anyone wants them.

  4. ... I always leave them at home...

With variable power the -1.5 diffusor seems superfluous, even for macro work. I leave mine at home, too!

  5. 1.5 works well for putting your beer on it.
