Learned today that our good friend and well known author, photographer, TV producer and film maker Joe Strykowski (Diving for Fun, Divers and Cameras, etc.) was lost at sea on January 19, 2009.
He was on board an American catamaran on a two-year round the world voyage.
The boat capsized during a storm 200 miles east of Madagascar. There were three people onboard the catamaran Queequeg Two http://www.queequegtwo.com . One man survived.
We will sincerly miss him and the entire diving community has lost a gentleman and a true, passionate lover of the sea.
Our thoughts are with his family.
