Just returned my Ikelite D300 housing back to the dealer as there were some hairline cracks near the Shutter knob and also the ISO knob. can't feel it using my fingers but can be seen. Also a friend of mines housing has the same problem. Anyone here had the problem? I only did about 25 dives with it.
Cheers
Shaff
Friend of mine did with his compact housing, but it was very clearly a result of impact damage, as there was a large ding on the knob the cracks were radiating from.

How did Ike handle it?

Replaced by the dealer he got it from, no arguments.
Edit: think he got a free torch as well or somesuch, one of the small ones but he appreciated it as a gesture.

Hey guys,
I hope Ikelite replaces the housing as it's still under warranty...and i hope they give a free torch. Hehehe.
I have well over 100 dives on my 5D housing and no cracks.

Must be a faulty housing. And I still haven't got an response from Ikelite or even the dealer!
My first SLR housing was an Ikelite for a Nikon N90. I used it for many years, and often didn't take very good care of it letting it sit on the sun in boat decks, etc. Those cracks showed up in about 2 years but the housing never flooded even with the cracks...
Having said that, I think it is a material problem and I'm pretty sure Ikelite will replace it if you send the housing to them.
