  1. *EDIT*

Would a moderator be so kind as to move this to the appropriate forum? I wasn't even paying attention to where I was when I began the thread. Sorry!

I'm sure this has been covered ad nauseum, but I can't seem to find quite what I'm looking for. My apologies in advance if I've missed something!

I'm moving into the world of shooting w/ a strobe (have a D2000, Type 3 arriving today), and would like to know the best way to mount the thing. I've got the AD Mount Base & Grip Base DIII for my A570IS/WP-DC12, and I'm really not quite sure what direction to go in so far as arm's are concerned.

For the time being, i'll be doing mostly macro stuff (important detail, i'm sure). I did notice the sticky for placement of arms/strobes in Wide Angle stuff, but that doesn't quite help me much!

Any help would be greatly appreciated, again!

  2. I'd use something like a 6 + 4" on the left, bring it in really tight and from the upper right with one strobe and then I use another down and side light on lower power as a fill on the other side. I've used as little as 1 4-5" on that side.

You want to bring your strobes in close, on med high for best color saturation and your shutter speed and aperture up.
