Problem with YS110 alpha

7 posts
  1. Hi guys,

Yesterday, I prepared my gear as usual, tried if each component was working properly. Also Check the strobes, all sounded fine. From my place to the diving site there is a half an hour drive, then I hit the water. Tried to take my first shots, and founded out that one of my strobes did not want to fire.

I check the following to see what could be the problem:

    - Sync cord = fine

    - batteries = fine

    - flooded = negative

This unit is only 6 months old, and has been used for around 70 dives. Note that the unit turns on, and the red light at the back will blink when a picture is taken.

Didi you have something similar ? maybe with another strobe ?

I am currently based in Bali, did you have an experience with the service of sea and sea in Indonesia ?

    Cheers

    Daniel

  2. Take the unit to Aquasport/Divemasters in Sanur, they can arrange for service.

  3. Hey Daniel,

Check the position of the slave switch - if it's on the synch cord won't fire the strobe.

Also the switch can sometimes be inbetween the on / off position and nothing works - really common to move this switch when folks are using the led target light.

    Good Luck

I had the exact same problem 1.5 years ago with one of my YS-110's. I also couldn't trigger it in slave mode. Sea & Sea in the US exchanged/repaired it at no cost. The turn around time for them to ship me a new one was about 3 weeks.

  5. Take the unit to Aquasport/Divemasters in Sanur, they can arrange for service.

Will call them tomorrow, thanks. Any idea of the wait?

  6. Don't they just send it out to JKT anyways? I brought a friend with a problem on his 250 and they said they don't do any of the servicing inhouse.

When you say they don't do the servicing inhouse, do you mean in DPS or JKT or both ?
